A catamaran approaching Anegada. The skipper of this catamaran was apparently navigationally challenged, as there is a prominent reef just ahead of him that is preventing him from reaching the beach. We first spotted this catamaran sailing north beyond the west end of Anegada, and knew that he had missed the island. He then turned and attempted to approach the island by motoring southeast, directly toward the reef, as shown in this photo. You can see two people up on the bows looking for reef. The reef is visible near the center of this photo, where small waves are breaking. When Walker saw this, he began taking photos to capture the event.

The catamaran continuing its ill-fated approach to Anegada. It is very near the reef now. At this point, Walker thought that he was documenting a shipwreck-in-progress.

The catamaran aborting its ill-fated approach to Anegada. Apparently, someone on the bow saw the reef and that there was no passage through it. The skipper slowly motored away then followed another boat in that knew how to properly approach Anegada.
