 Exposures
are made by swinging the lens, which moves a slot along the film focal
plane, resulting in an undistorted 142 degree field of view. In the top
photo, notice the two diagonal sight lines visible on the top of the camera,
originating in the center of the top rear edge. These sight lines are the
camera's field of view. In practice, these sight lines are much easier
to use than the extreme wide-angle brilliant finder.
The second photo is a rear view of the camera, with the back removed, showing the curved focal plane. The red spot in the center of the top is a liquid-bubble level. It is very important to have the camera level when taking panoramic photos. The shutter "speed" is selected by choosing one of two preset lens swinging speeds. |
