The Pocket Kodak camera is very important in the evolution of the
"amateur" camera. This was the series that bridged the gap between the original
Kodaks and the Brownies. The Pocket Kodak brought to the amateur convenience, simplicity,
small size, daylight loading, and the relatively low price of only $5. The camera is quite small, measuring only 2¼x3x4 inches. This particular example is the 3rd of 4 models produced in 1895. At the right is a photograph of the disassembled camera, showing the Tisdell sector shutter. |

This example has a black coarse-grained leather covering. The Pocket Kodak
was also produced with a fine-grained red leather covering. |
