Happy 50th. I’ll toast you with a glass of grappa tonight when I get home.
I’m afraid I’m dragging my 50th a few years behind me, although not as far
astern as Captain Whitebeard’s. .gif) 50 really ain’t so bad. And
you are pretty lucky. I only got to spend a week or so in the islands to celebrate mine

The new signature cocktail at Brandywine is the "Life Preserver" and is:
2oz. Bartolito Rum
3oz. Prune Juice
splash of Geritol.
Combine the ingredients in a shaker (remeber to fill with ice), chill, stir, strain into a
martini glass and serve garnished with viagra.

This thread is absolutely, positively travel related.
Why? I am making this post from Davide's office. Nancy and I traveled all day yesterday to
be here for a mega-surprise birthday party last night. I could not post anything earlier
about the trip because I could not let Davide have even a hint about it.
OK, now that I have "legalized" the post by including some travel talk in it, I
will add a couple of quick details. There were 48 guests, including Chief Minister Dr.
Orlando Smith and his wife Lorna, Charles Tobias (owner of the Pusser's empire) and his
wife Joanna, Davide's mother and father from Italy, TTOL'ers Mike ("chef_mike")
and Val ("islandgirl123"), and many many others.
The surprise was absolutely total. Davide thought that the Rotary Club was having a big
dinner at Brandywine Bay last night. He had no clue that he was preparing his own birthday
party dinner!
I spoke to Dr. Orlando Smith about TTOL -- he's a fan, and Lorna really is a fan. It is
probably not cool for heads of state to post on the internet, however....
I took over 150 photos last night, and will write a detailed journal of the entire trip
when we get back home Monday. (This is just a weekend trip!)

of the BVI etc., etc. I do really believe that wishing a Happy Birthday to a BVI business
man whether it be a restauranter, booze baron or a Chief Minister does not belong on a
traveltalk section. A section devoted to this type of communiction is known as People

99% of the people who have contributed to this section appears to me to
be from countries other than the BVI. People who have a love for the Islands and its
people and strong friendships made whilst visiting this wonderful place.
Travellers for the first time to the BVI can only be encouraged at seeing so many people
from around the world contribute in wishing the BVI resident or residents a Happy
Birthday.
It really is a great place to visit, or live so come on out on vacation, and your assured
of a warm welcome and maybe like some of the members on here life long friends.

the highest quality olives I can find
Sorry I've been so "quiet" lately but it's been a helluva 4+
days. Saturday I was out for 10 hours with some people from out of town.. same thing
Sunday in the cold sloppy rain. Then came the freezing rain and subsequent ice storm
Sunday night.
If any of you are familiar with this part of Georgia, you know we have a zillion tall
spindly pines everywhere. They get to 60' to 80' in a few years with just a clump of green
on top.. PERFECT to collect a nice big ice ball supported by a trunk less than 10 inches
in diameter. You get the picture now. Yep.. they snap off with a loud crack and take the
power lines with them. Ours went off around 8am Monday morning. In all, about 200,000
people lost power and some still hasn't been restored as last night. We got our back at
3:00am yesterday morning but many businesses and homes are still without. Crews are here
from adjacent states and I saw five crews yesterday from Alabama Power. Trees are still
down everywhere and it's a mess. Welcome to the SUNNY SOUTH!
I'm impressed Walker.. you did it well. And again.. Happy Birthday Davide. I'll do it
again in person when we see you May 3. Reservations for 6 at 8:00 p.m.! No Grappa for my
or the crew.. we have to sail the next day .. and a checkout. 
Just wish some of my good friends were also going to be there in May but so far only
Sailorick is on the calendar. But, we'll have two of the finest cats in the BVI during
that time, Jeannius and AristoCat II.
I'm also glad to learn that Dr. Orlando Smith and his wife Lorna are TTOL fans and keep up
with our ramblings. Greetings to you both from Augusta, GA, and I hope we get to meet
someday.

Hey Bill, dont count me out ! I (or we wife Candace and I) may be down
then depending how far along the remodel has got and , if we are, count us in for
Brandywine..it's the best send off from the island ( we'll let you know closer to the
date). And I also chatted with Dr Smith about TTOL and he told me they check it regularly
so our voice is being heard ( read) by the top brass and believe me this is a man who
belives in hearing everybody's opinion..stay away from the big falling ice and think about

With great pleasure, here's the 50th and final post in this thread (I
guess that doesn't sound right, but you know what I mean).
